Photography Policies & Booking Agreement
1. Booking & Retainer
A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date. Dates are not secured until the retainer has been received. The remaining balance is due on or before the session date, as outlined in your booking details, and must be paid in full prior to image delivery.
2. Rescheduling & Cancellations
Life happens! Sessions may be rescheduled with adequate notice. Retainers are non-refundable but may be transferred to a new date if rescheduling occurs within a reasonable timeframe.
If a session is canceled without rescheduling, the retainer will be forfeited.
3. Session Experience & Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for arriving on time and prepared for their session. Late arrivals may result in reduced session time. I am not responsible for missed moments due to lateness, lack of cooperation, or unforeseen circumstances outside my control.
4. Weather Policy
For outdoor sessions, weather conditions may require rescheduling. Decisions will be made collaboratively, prioritizing safety and the best outcome for your photos. There is no additional fee for weather-related reschedules.
5. Image Delivery & Turnaround Time
Final edited images will be delivered via a private online gallery within the timeframe outlined in your package. Turnaround times may vary slightly during peak seasons, but I always aim to deliver as promptly as possible.
6. Editing & Artistic Style
By booking, you acknowledge that you are familiar with my editing style and trust my creative direction. All delivered images are fully edited in my style. Raw/unedited images are not provided.
Additional retouching requests may be available for an extra fee.
7. Usage & Copyright
All images are the intellectual property of the photographer and are protected by copyright law. Clients receive a personal-use license, allowing downloading, sharing, and printing of images for non-commercial use.
Images may not be altered, sold, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
8. Model Release
By booking, you grant permission for images to be used for portfolio, website, social media, and marketing purposes unless otherwise requested in writing prior to the session.
If you prefer to keep your images private, please submit a written request prior to your session, and your preferences will be fully respected.
9. Travel Policy
Sessions within 30 miles of West Des Moines, Iowa are included. Locations outside this area are subject to a travel fee, calculated using the current IRS standard mileage rate.
10. Safety & Supervision
Client safety is always a top priority. While the photographer takes reasonable care to create a safe environment, participation in sessions—especially with children or outdoor locations—may involve inherent risks.
Parents or legal guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times. The photographer is not responsible for injuries or accidents that may occur during the session.
11. Liability
While every effort is made to provide a smooth and professional experience, the photographer is not liable for circumstances beyond control, including but not limited to weather conditions, venue restrictions, or unforeseen disruptions.
In the rare event of equipment failure, illness, or emergency, liability is limited to a refund of payments made.
12. Agreement
Booking a session confirms that you have read, understood, and agreed to these policies.
